Daniel Dyson comes from a long line of Tidewater planters whose roots stretch from Jamestown to the Pee Dee River basin in South Carolina. Born and raised in Wake County, North Carolina, he holds a B.S. in Accounting and Information Systems from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in Accounting from East Carolina University. His career has spanned both private companies and the Fortune 500, focused on enterprise financial analysis and technical accounting, with a specialization in revenue recognition and commercial contract analysis. In 2023 he founded Post Mill Accounting, providing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services to local small businesses. He has since launched Dyoptra, working exclusively with surveying and engineering firms across the region.
